Recommended Posts

Quick guide to getting XBMC up and running

I'll be using a standard windows pc to prepare the image.

Step 1

Download the following software

SD Formatter - http://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/

Wind32 Imager - http://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download

OpenELEC - http://openelec.thestateofme.com/ (get the latest .img file)

Step 2

Insert your SD card into your windows pc and load up SDFormatter. Format the SD card with the defaults.

Step 3

Now load up W32 imager and select the image you downloaded from the raspihub site. Hit Write to copy the image to the SD card.

Step 4

Pop the SD card into your raspberry pi and load it up. Simple! :D

Few tips I found out working on it

- Change the Audio to Analogue to use the 3.5mm jack

- When changing the wireless settings always reboot afterwards

- Changing the startup screen to go direct to music is quite nice

- Always use the confluence theme, its the quickest
