Raspberry Pi Project Combines an Electric Guitar with an Oversized Game Boy

Recommended Posts

Meet the Guitar Boy, a working electric guitar and a working oversized Game Boy rolled into one.

Created by electronics whizz Fibbef, an admin on BitFixGaming boards, and spotted by Hackaday, the Guitar Boy is running on a Raspberry Pi B+ with RetroPie version 2.3.

The a 5-inch LCD display is powered by a 2,200 mAh battery and the guitar is a passive setup, which uses a humbucker pickup. There's a simple audio selector on the side, which chooses whether the sound comes from the guitar or the Game Boy. And for extra bonus points the body has been built to look exactly like a Classic Game Boy from around 1989.

You can watch a video of the Guitar Boy in action over on Fibeff's YouTube channelby hitting the link.
