  1. Pi Vessel on the Raspberry Pi

Hi! Pi Vessel is a new project based on the Raspberry platform. This device is a small entry-level computer or an entertainment computer for people who don't want a lot of hassle to get up and running fast. It's great for kids or for people who want to watch TV and movies without a long setup time, downloading software, putting together a console, reading instructions, or fussing about with complex cables and gadgets. The Pi Vessel is simple, affordable, and kid proof. All information about this device is on Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2000314193/pi-vessel-stylish-super-affordable-minicomputer

  3. We are doing a project for our intro to programming class. We are making a temperature sensor that will send our data to sen.se. When we run our program on our raspberry pi this comes up: Traceback (most recent call last) : File "/home/pi/Desktop/1.py", line 14, in <module> device_folder = glob.glob(base_dir + '28*')[0] IndexError: list index out of range What does this mean? and how can we fix it? Thank you temperature code.txt
  4. Hi guys, just thought I'd drop in and let you know about a website I found. For ages I've been searching for a small touchscreen to use as part of a home brew car PC build utilising the Raspberry Pi. The only problem was finding one with a natively supported driver set. I found a website called www.carcomputer.co.uk that provide customizable bundles which include a touchscreen HDMI monitor and an SD card with the driver set already compiled into the OS and calibrated. The only limitation is as yet they only offer Debian Wheezy as an OS but this suited me fine. They have a whole array of products here: http://www.carcomputer.co.uk/index.php?/raspberry-pi/view-all-products The bundle I bought was the £199.00 one, so far so good. Everthing turned up the very next day and was simply plug and play. I know its cheating as the Pi is supposed to be a devlopers tool, but its taken so much work out of the build and made my life a lot easier. I can't reccomend these guys enough
  5. Hello everyone! I haven't used Raspberry Pi, but I have read a lot about it. I have planned a project with it as a project in school, but it isn't confirmed that will I ever do it. I'd like to hear your opinions about it. So, basically I'm going to make Handheld retro console. Here's parts I have planned to use: Screen: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Monitor-Support ... B006MPRFJQ Raspberry Pi Starter bundle: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Raspberry-Pi-St ... pi+starter Battery: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006 ... PJL0BBLHLX Also, I found this guide: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-your- ... -498561192 I'm going to follow the guide step by step to setup my Raspberry Pi Because I'm a low budget student, I look for cheapest parts. I haven't ordered anything yet, so go ahead and give advice ordering better / cheaper parts. Here's my questions: 1. I know that screen I chose is used by many Raspberry users, so is it possible to mod it use +5 voltage? There are some projects where they mod 12V screens to use 5V but they used different screen. I intend to use same USB battery with Raspberry and Screen. 2. Is my battery good for my project? 3. Any advice working with this project? Ps. I'm from Finland, so English isn't my first language.
