  1. Control Pi via SMS

I have created a nice little script that will allow you to send a sms to your raspberry pi and do what ever action you have set for the keyword https://github.com/txt3rob/sms-command-server you need a textlocal account (uk) and fill in the details and your sorted. I can alter the script for other SMS providers if required.
  2. smspi

I've created a website for uk users to send free sms using my raspberry pi. it works via VPN/3G dongle and can be used in all programming languages that can post to web data. http://www.smspi.co.uk I personally use PHP to send the SMS but i have a few bits on github. http://www.github.com/txt3rob/
  3. Thought id make a quick how to for uk users. first go to http://www.smspi.co.uk and register and get your hash from the main page. second find a script language you want to use in the example ill use bash / curl curl --data "to=077123456789&message=YOUR MESSAGE&hash=ENTERYOURHASH" http://www.smspi.co.uk/send/ Alter to to number and set it to the mobile number you wish to use and then alter your message to the message you wish to use and then alter the hash to the hash you have been given. and done. it will text you all you need to do is think what you would like the alert to do or say.
